Rye Brook Together Trustee Candidates Call for
Formation of Task Force to Review Village Site Plan Regulations
Rye Brook, New York, February 18, 2010 – Rye Brook Together Board of Trustee Candidates Toby Marrow and Jeff Rednick announced today that they would seek formation of a task force which includes volunteers from the various Village Homeowners’ Associations to review the Village’s site plan regulations as they pertain to changes in existing Planned Unit Developments (PUDs) and Homeowner’s Associations (HOAs) within the Village.
“We need to examine the procedure involved when an HOA or PUD wishes to make minor changes to its internal layout, roadways, recreation areas, sidewalks and other infrastructure, or a unit owner wishes to make a small improvement,” said Trustee Candidate Marrow. “HOAs are not deep pocket developers and have the same financial constraints that government has today. They shouldn’t have to go through the enormous expense of hiring architects, planners, surveyors and attorneys just to make some minor change. There should be a stream-lined procedure for this. It should be similar to the process the average homeowner follows for a small change, not complete site review every time.
“I would like to see a volunteer from each PUD and HOA in the Village represented on the task force,” said Trustee Candidate Rednick. Many of the Village’s residents live in “Doral Green, Talcott Woods, the Arbors, Avon Circle, Brookridge Court and Bellefair so the creation of a minor site plan review process for these associations would be cost saving and create efficiencies for both the residents and the Village."
