Rye Brook Together Nominates
Paul Rosenberg and David Heiser for Trustee Seats

January 23, 2012 - Rye Brook Together has nominated Paul Rosenberg and David M. Heiser as its candidates for Village Trustees in the March 20, 2012 Village election. Rosenberg is running for re-election. Heiser would fill the seat currently held by Michael Brown, who has chosen not to seek re-election.

Kenneth L. Berman, RBT’s Chairman, said, “We are pleased to be able to nominate Paul and David. Paul has a proven record of service to the Village. David has a terrific background and is a respected member of the community. He is well-qualified to be a Village Trustee.” Berman added, “We are grateful to Michael Brown for his dedication and service, and we wish him well.”

Paul Rosenberg is currently Deputy Mayor. He first served as a Trustee from 2003-2004 and re-joined the Board of Trustees in March 2005. Rosenberg played a key role in helping to create the King Street Athletic Field Complex and negotiating the cable television franchise with Verizon. He has also chaired the Coterminous Town/Village Committee, which investigated the merits of Rye Brook becoming an independent Town/Village and served as a member of the Board's Vision Plan Implementation Task Force. Rosenberg is a past President of the James Way Homeowners Association in Rye Brook. He is an Executive Director in JP Morgan Chase's Investment Bank. “I want to continue my goal of providing excellent Village services to residents while keeping Village taxes as low as possible,” said Rosenberg. “Throughout my time on the Village board, I’ve worked to improve the quality of life for residents in the Village. Last year we increased services available to Village residents while keeping a 0% tax increase for Village taxes.”

David Heiser and his wife Janet have lived in Rye Brook since 1989. He is a member of the Village Traffic Commission and is finishing a term as Co-President of Congregation KTI, his second time leading the synagogue. He is a retired attorney with deep expertise in labor law. “I feel it is important to give back to the community,” Heiser said, “It is easy to complain about what you do not like or what you think is wrong. I want to be part of the solution. All of Rye Brook should feel that the Trustees represent their interests. I want to help make Rye Brook as good as it can be.”

Michael Brown is stepping down after three terms as trustee. “I feel that it is time to step aside to let another member of our community contribute to village governance. I have enjoyed my time on the Board, with my fellow trustees and Mayors and am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a dedicated and dynamic staff,” said Brown.

Formed in 2004, RBT is a non-political group of residents from all areas of our Village who believe in forward-thinking, fiscally responsible leadership that will build consensus and a sense of community throughout Rye Brook.
